History of the tarot
The real history of the tarot is very ancient. We find traces of this game as early as the fourteenth century. The first deck of which there is evidence is that of Duke Filippo Maria Visconti, known today as the Visconti-Sforza deck, in commemoration of the marriage of his daughter to Duke Francisco I Sforza.
Already by the eighteenth century this game had spread throughout Italy, France, Germany, Austria, Belgium and Switzerland, continuing without pause its expansion across the rest of Europe.
Until then it was used more as a card game than as a method to predict the future, only the Gypsy people used it for this purpose. Who edited the original deck to use it as a mean for clairvoyance was the occultist and fortune-teller Jean-Baptiste Alliette, better known as the great Etteilla, in that very century.
This game was not associated with mysticism and magic until the late 18th century and early 19th century when the mason cleric Gebelin found associations between religious, Egyptian and Kabbalah symbolisms within these cards.
Later, approaching the present time of history, a Chilean artist named Alexander Jodorowsky collected a great amount of decks, with the one of Marseilles becoming his favorite one. During his travels he met Philippe Camoin, owner of a card printing factory founded in 1760 in Marsella itself. They both decided to join to restore the original deck and return to it the symbols and colors that had lost over the years. Today, Jodorowsky and Camoin are recognized masters thanks to their studies and editorial creations on this discipline of clairvoyance.
“Tarot can serve both to explore specific issues and to explore the depths of the soul.” – Jodorowsky
Therefore, we deduce that the original tarot is a card game, a medieval historical object and also a tool dedicated to divination. The versions of its decks are numerous and can take different forms, always maintaining the same essence. In times of doubt or anxiety about your future is when they are consulted the most. A decision, a specific question, etc., there is no doubt that it cannot solve. A single quick reading will clarify your destiny and will help you make the right decision, giving you an immediate and clear answer.

The meaning of the cards
The tarot is one of the most famous card games, it contains 78 sheets, composed of 21 Major Arcana, 56 Minor Arcana and one unnumbered card (The Crazy Man). Note that when performing a complete card reading and depending on the position of each card, its order, astrological interpretation, numerology and symbolic esoteric the meaning will not be the same.
The study of the Major Arcana of the deck is based on the symbolism of each of the characters represented in each illustration, their colors and their position in the reading. Thus, according to the first, the second and third cards they will represent the past, the present or the future.
For example, if in a reading comes The Emperor in the first position, it will mean that in your past there was a very important man in your life that caused your current conflict. However, if this card comes in second place, it represents a very influential man in your life today, and finally, if it comes out in the third position, it means that your future will be marked by such a powerful man.
The Major Arcana are a true good of wisdom and knowledge, which are key in our lives, our successes, our failures, our joys, our sorrows and our strengths and our weaknesses.

They are the fundamental basic principles of human life, such as life and death, the ethical dilemmas, the spirituality and the interaction with other people. You can see the Major Arcana as spiritual consultants whose messages can be used to find the right path of life and beyond.
On the other hand, the Minor Arcana often treat the banal and the superficial things. However, when a professional card reading is performed with the consultation of a tarot reader the difference between Minor Arcana and Major Arcana is often blurred, because the sheets interact with each other and represent a clear picture of the life and influences of the applicant.

The following meanings of the cards are interpretations that have been used for decades, after long periods of evolution, experience and study. There are no “correct” interpretations of the cards, but these fundamentals will guide you to the answers you seek.
